"Relationships are worth Restoring"

“If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if His love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you…agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends.”  Philippians 2: 1 – 2 MSG

We talked about anger last week; this week lets talk about restoring relationships which is what happens when anger gets controlled.

Relationships are worth restoring.

Life is all about learning how to love.  God wants us to value our relationships and make every effort to maintain them.  He didn’t make anyone to be a throw away, especially when the reason for throwing them away is because of a hurt or a rift.

If you look at the New Testament it’s all about restoring relationships.  The Apostle Paul taught us that the ability to get along with others is the mark of spiritual maturity.  Jesus tells us that we should be known for our love.

If you want to know God’s blessings intimately, serve God as a peacemaker.  Now don’t be mistaken about this, peacemaking is a hard occupation.  It’s not for the wimpy or faint of heart.  It’s a skill we learn as we go along our path of maturity.

Part of peacemaking is resolving conflicts with others.  Over the next several days, we’ll consider the steps necessary to resolve those conflicts.

Peace in the Lord,

Pastor Don
