"The Healing Choices Jesus Made for Us"

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the body is weak.” Matthew 26: 41 NIV

So often we think about praying to Jesus, asking Him for help and to be with us. Perhaps you remember that Jesus prayed for us. It’s in John 17. It’s a good thing to remember.

On the night before Jesus died He prayed that we would be one with Him as He is one with the Father.

On that night, before he died, He sweated blood as He prayed for us, staring straight into the future with eyes wide open at the truth that He was going to die for our sins.

On that night, before He died, He challenged His disciples, and still challenges us, to not fall asleep on the job that He has given us. To stay awake and alert to the opportunitiesto serve Him.

On that night, before He died, Jesus experienced all the struggles that we have while never asking us to understand His struggle. He even warned us about willing spirits, but weak bodies.

On that night, before He died, we saw Him just as human as we are, full of sorrow, full of sadness; yet thinking only about our needs and not his own. He was willing to do whatever His Father wanted Him to do so that we might be His people.

Peace in the Lord,

Pastor Don
