"The Four Laws of Blessing"
“I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you…and you will be a blessing to others.”Genesis 12: 2 NLT
The Bible teaches that we should use our blessings to bless others. The blessings flow to us, and we get to enjoy them, but also get to pass them along to others. That’s our privilege and honor.
The first law of blessing is: our blessings should flow to others.
God blesses us so that we can be a blessings. If you hold on to those blessings you're not really fulfilling your purpose. God didn't bless us to be comfortable, He blessed us so that we will have something to share with others.
The second law of blessing is: when we bless others God takes care of our needs.
The more you bless other people, the more you help, the more you feel God's care for your needs. Luke tells us, “give away your life; you’ll find life given back but not really given back – given back with bonus and blessings. Giving, not getting is the way. Generosity begets generosity.” Luke 6: 38 MSG
The third law of blessing is: our blessings to others will come back to us.
Blessings always return to you when you share them with others. Now, you don't bless others to manipulate God. You share because of what God has already shared with you. That often results in a return, sometimes of even greater blessings.
The fourth law of blessing is: the more we’re blessed by God, the more He expects us to help others.
In Luke 12: 48 Jesus says, “Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given.” When you are blessed the reason you have received that blessing is to be a blessing.
We can’t share out of guilt or avarice. That will never bless us! We give in response to God’s great blessings on us. We give because God gave; because we are created in His image. He is love and the greatest gift we share is His love.
Peace in the Lord,
