"Jesus Challenged People"

“We should consider the good of our neighbor and build up his character.”Romans 15: 2

In this coming Christmas season, I want to encourage you to be a people-builder. It is a gift you can even give someone who has everything; it will last forever.

The key to building up people is kindness - giving them what they need and not what they deserve. Consider the way Jesus built-up people. He did three things: challenged, encouraged and spoke honestly.

Today, I'mgoing to invite you to look at how Jesus challenged people to be all God made them to be. God doesn’t want you to waste your life.

Here’s how you can begin: challenge those closest to you to live beyond themselves and to discover their strengths and abilities. God gives all of us special abilities. He wants us to use them to help each other or to pass on to others His many kinds of blessings.

We all need somebody who will help us to discover our gifts and will challenge us to develop our strengths and use them. You can play a critical role by helping the ones you love to discover their strengths and abilities; then challenging them to use them.

Finally, help them to understand how special their gifts are. If they don’t use the gifts God has given them, we will all miss out on the blessing they are intended to bring. It’s like a singer who never sings; we’ll miss out on the blessing that would have come from hearing the voice.

We are all meant to be a blessing to each other.

Peace in the Lord,

Pastor Don
