"Christmas Outreach:
Try Something Different"

“Some men arrived carrying a paraplegic man on a stretcher. They were looking for a way to get into the house and set him before Jesus. When they couldn’t find a way in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, removed some times, and let him down in the middle of everyone, right in front of Jesus. Impressed by their bold belief, He said, ‘Friend, I forgive your sins!’”Luke 5: 18 – 20 MSG

Here’s another way you can reach out to people for Jesus.

4. You need the courage to do something different.

When faced with a discouraging situation, these four friends decided to do something different, even radical, to get their friend to Jesus – they went through the roof. Sometimes, you have to do something different to get people to Jesus as well.

It may not be that you make a hole in the roof, you might host a party. Maybe watch a nice Christmas movie or take a friend out to a play. Spend some time with people you don’t know very well and get to be friends. Friends can more easily bring a friend to Jesus.

You can have courage as you tell others about Jesus because the Holy Spirit is working through you. It doesn’t matter how well you talk or how educated you are to do this. Don’t worry; just take a step in faith.

God says He’ll help you: “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Acts 4: 13 NIV

Peace in the Lord,
