"Servants Finish their Tasks"
“Well done, my good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” Matthew 25: 23
Real servants are faithful to their ministry. They finish their tasks, fulfill their responsibilities, keep their promises and keep their commitments. They don’t leave things undone; they don’t quit because they get discouraged.
We’re in a time when many people don’t understand the meaning of commitments. They make them casually and break them often. People wait for the next invitation and if it sounds better than what they had made a commitment to, they just don’t come.
Can you be counted on by others? Are there promises you need to keep, vows you need to fulfill or commitments you need to honor? It’s really important that you fulfill them because that’s what God does.
Those are really important questions because they are a test. God is testing your faithfulness. If you pass the test you are in good company. There’s a whole bunch of people in the Bible who have done the same thing.
Even better, God has promised to reward faithfulness in eternity. Imagine what it will feel like to one day have God say to you “Well done, my good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”
By the way, faithful servants never retire. They serve faithfully as long as they are alive. You can retire from your career, but there is no retirement from serving God.
Peace in the Lord,
