"Make Time for Fun with
“People ought to enjoy every day of their lives, no matter how long they live.” Ecclesiastes 11: 8 NCV
Do you want to have a great family? Play together. Enjoy the life that God has given you together. For many families this is the missing ingredient.
Many families are too busy, too tired, too worn out and too serious. Who wants to come home from work or school to that? Families should be fun.
Why is it important for you to enjoy every day? Because none of us knows how long we shall live. Recently, someone talked to me about a 44 year old who died. I wonder if there were things he put off, thinking that someday he’ll get to them? How often we land up living with regret for a "someday" that doesn’t come.
Words are cheap. Actions speak a lot louder. We now have grandchildren and we try to see them often. It’s neat to walk in and have them run to us because they are excited to see us. They are anticipating that they will have fun with us.
As we were leaving last time, Gael leaned his head on Mom and said, “I don’t want Grandma and Grandpa to go home.” We were able to lift his spirits by reminding him that we would see him in just three weeks, on his birthday. You are reading this devotion on his birthday and we are celebrating with him.
Our actions said he was important enough to us to make a trip to Vermont so that we could be there for the day he was born.
Peace in the Lord,
