"God's Peace Beats Out Worry"
“On your feet wear the good news of peace to help you stand strong.” Ephesians 6: 15 NCV
Conflict makes you an easy target for Satan’s attack. It doesn’t matter where the conflict comes from, it will open the door for Satan to tear you apart. You don’t want that.
Roman soldiers had hobnails on the bottom of their shoes. These little nails helped them get a better grip, kind of like cleats for football or baseball players. Without them soldiers would slip and slide in battle. They wouldn’t be able to hold their ground.
If you don’t put on the peace that comes from the Good News, you also will find yourself less secure, may even falling down. Where do you want that peace to be in your life? Paul says there are three areas: within yourself, with others and with God.
It’s called reconciliation and you need it in every aspect of your life. If you have it you’ll be on solid ground; if you don’t you may be sliding down a slippery slope.
So what does all that have to do with worry? Satan uses worry to throw you off balance. It distracts you from what you really need to focus on. Choose to believe what God’s Word says about you, about others and most importantly about God.
Choose to believe because obeying God’s Word brings you peace.
Peace in the Lord,
