"How to Refuel Your Love Tank"
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13: 7
The kind of love that makes a difference in people’s lives requires a big effort on each of our own parts. The thing is, there are huge rewards for sharing it.
However, all of us face the dilemma that sometimes we just don’t feel like we have any more love to give. It may be that you’re in a people-intensive job or you may just be stresed out. Perhaps you’ve needed to love a person who needs more love than any one person could share. You just think to yourself, I’m done, no more.
While all that’s normal, it’s not the standard of love God calls us to share. Our verse for today reminds us that love never gives up. So how can you share that kind of love? You’ve got to get refueled.
When kids come home from school, one of the best things you can do is give them a healthy snack. In the same way, you need to replenish yourself through God’s love. You want to remember how much God loves you; then allow that love to refuel you.
When you’re worn out, tired and can’t imagine sharing love with anyone else, remember that God loved you so much that He sent His Son to die for you. Now that’s real love. That’s a fuel that keeps you going so that you don’t want to quit.
Peace in the Lord,
