"Trust in God's Loving Care"
“Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for your answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than human mind can understand.” Philippians 4: 6 – 7 LB
Life is never without problems. So the most important thing we can learn is how to have peace in the middle of our problems. You solve one problem only to discover another. So why is your life just one problem after another?
There are three reasons:
First, Adam choked. He blew it. He and Eve gave into temptation and allowed sin to come into the world. We’ve all been paying for the consequences of that. We live in a fallen world where there is sin.
Two, you have an enemy and his name is Satan. He wants to mess with your mind, your family, your health, and your finances. He really wants to do that if you’re a follower of Jesus Christ and you’re trying to do the right thing.
Finally, we all make our own mistakes. If we look at life realistically we know that a lot of our problems come because of things we did or decided not to do.
But there’s one other explanation for it. Sometimes problems just come. They come so that the work of God may be displayed in your life. It doesn’t really matter why you have these unsolvable, unchangeable, unexplainable or uncontrollable problems. The solution to all is the same: trust in God’s loving care.
As Paul says in our verse for today, that’s the solution to every problem. It’s also the path to peace. When you trust God’s loving care you will have peace, no matter what is happening in your life.
Peace in the Lord,
PS.: The devotion will be on vacation on Monday in honor of Memorial Day. I pray you have a wonderful day together with your family and honor those who have died in the service of our country.
