"Marriage is Meant for Connection"
“In God’s plan men and women need each other.”
1 Corinthians 11: 11 TLB
Marriage doesn’t solve problems. It doesn’t create problems. Marriage reveals problems. It simply magnifies what was already a problem when you were living as a single adult.
There are a lot of things marriage can’t do, but it does have a God-designed function. So what is it? God created marriage for the connection of men and women. God’s plan, whether you’re married or not, is that we have both men and women in our lives. Having both genders in our lives helps us to see God’s world with a fuller understanding.
We each get our individual parts and we each need each other. God wired us that way. Remember when God created Adam He noticed he was lonely? He created woman, an equal helper with good insights and good understanding.
Genesis 2: 18 says, “It isn’t good for a man to be alone; I will make a companion for him.” We know that men who live without a companion live shorter lives. There is no greater way of creating companionship than to share a life together as husband and wife.
There are a lot of voices suggesting it should be different. All I have to say to you is this is God’s plan. It seemed to work for pretty long. I guess I don’t see a problem with it now.
Peace in the Lord,
