"The Other Side of the Tapestry"

“We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”  Romans 8: 28 NLT

There are a lot of things in life that can turn out to be pretty messy.  Sickness, job loss or death of a loved one, these are all pills that are bitter going down and we can choke upon them.

Our verse reminds us that God is always trying to bring good out of those things that seem to us to be not very good.  He is actively working to bring good no matter what happens in your life.  To hold onto hope in the midst of tough times, you’ll need to grab hold of this truth.

I’m not saying that everything that happens in your life is good.  There are things that aren’t very good.  Yet, very few of us experience more bad than good.  That’s part of God’s working.

It’s not that things always work as we want them to.  Every story doesn’t have a happy ending.  The reality is that there will be poor business decisions, marriages that don't end happily ever after.  Not every child becomes captain of the football or cheerleading squad.

Our verse reminds us that the master designer of the universe causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him.  That’s one of the reasons it’s important to love God, this promise is only for those who know and love God.

Life is like a quilt.  We often only see the bottom, which appears messy.  God sees the finished product, which is beautiful.  It's all part of the art work of life.

Your future is in His hands and there is no better place to be.

Peace in the Lord,

Pastor Don
