"The Lord is Close"
“You know how to give good things to your children. How much more, than, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.” Matthew 7: 11 GNT
The Bible tells us that God is a caring father. He’s our dad who is compassionate, loving, gracious and cares about us.
Whenever Jesus talked about His Father, He used the word “Abba.” It’s one of the first words Middle Eastern children learn because it means “daddy.” It’s the ultimate term of endearment, of closeness of family. There is no barrier between a little baby and a daddy.
What do we know about our “Abba”? Let me tell you three things:
1st. God is never too busy for you. He’s always ready to listen;always ready to hear.
2nd. God loves to meet your needs. We might sometimes be selfish and self-centered. Yet, most parents, when called upon, provide for their children. If people do that, how much more does God.
3rd. God is sympathetic to your hurts. When you come to God with your pain He doesn’t tell you to get over it. He listens carefully to what you say and how hurt you are.
The Bible says, “The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34: 18 NIV). So if you’re feeling crushed in spirit, turn to God. He’s glad to meet your need.
That’s why He’s known as your heavenly "daddy."
Peace in the Lord,
