"Share the Joy of Your Salvation"

“He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”  Ephesians 2: 10b NLT

If you want to get your joy back, first, admit it’s gone; second analyze the cause.  Then third, correct what’s wrong and finally, get an attitude of gratitude.

There are three more steps to recovering your joy that we’ll talk about today.

1.  You have to spend time with God every day.

A lot of time we get caught in the idea that we’re not worthy enough for God to spend time with us, so we don’t spend time with Him.  Yet, God invites us to do just that.

There’s a joy that comes when we spend time with God because we learn to hear His voice and find out what He wants us to do with our lives.  It helps us to develop our friendship.

2.  You need to find a way to give back.

Ephesians 2: 10 reminds us that God created us to do good works.  When you’re feeling down it’s very easy to get self-centered.  The truth is, the more you focus on yourself, the more joy you lose.

It’s no surprise that people who volunteer say their lives are fuller and happier.  They’re not focusing on themselves.  Find a way to give back and your joy will return quickly.

3.  To recover your joy, tell somebody about Jesus.

Nothing restores joy faster than becoming concerned about the salvation of a friend.  I don’t mean you hit people over the head with Jesus.  Just share your joy in Him.

Every time someone comes to faith there’s a party in heaven.  The day you help someone come to know the Lord there’s going to be a party in your heart.  The joy returns as you share Him with others.

Take these steps and you will find God renewing the joy of salvation in you every day.

Peace in the Lord,

Pastor Don
