"God Wants You to Give
What You Get"

“God, who supplies seed for the sower and bread to eat, will also supply you with all the seed you need and will make it grow and produce a rich harvest from your generosity.  He will always make you rich enough to be generous at all times, so that many will thank God for your gifts which they receive from us.  For this service you perform not only meets the needs the God’s people, but also produces an outpouring of gratitude to God.”  2 Corinthians 9: 10 – 12

What God gives to you, He wants to give through you.  So which would you like to be, a cup or a straw?  A cup mean you want to keep everything.  That’s not what God wants.  He wants you to be the straw through whom people can channel the blessing He gives to you to them.

The promise in our verse is built on your willingness to share what He supplies.  God wants to know, “Are you willing to pass on God’s blessings to others?”  Now before you say you really don’t have that much, consider this.

Remember the woman who gave all she had.  How could she do that?  Because she trusted God to provide for her.  When you say things like, “I don’t have enough to give,” you’re doubting God.

God uses your willingness to give as a test of your trust of Him.  Here’s what He really wants you to say, “God, I don’t think I have much, but whatever I’ve got, I’m willing to share.  Whether it is time, food or money, whatever it is I will offer it in your service.”

God has a promise for you if you’ll say that:  First, you will grow spiritually.  Second, He will use you to meet other people’s needs.  Third, it will bring praise to God when you do it.  When you give whatever you have, God will open the door of blessing in your life in a way you cannot imagine.

Peace in the Lord,
