"Trust God, One Day at a Time"
“Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done … Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4: 6 NLT
So how does God want you to trust Him? One day at a time. That’s why He reminds us to ask each day rather than on a weekly basis.
Our verse for today kind of outlines the issues:
WORRY ABOUT NOTHING– What’s the big deal about worry? You see, it’s not just a bad habit, it’s sin. It’s not trusting God. He specifically tells us, “Don’t worry…”
PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING – If you can worry, you can pray. Worry focuses on the need. Prayer we focuses on God. Our greatest need is salvation. God took care of that. What could be more important.
THANK GOD IN ALL THINGS – This is the hard one. No matter what’s happening in your life, thank God. He uses it all to form you for what He has planned. In our need He gets the opportunity to show His grace and mercy.
THINK ABOUT THE RIGHT THINGS – Think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise. That will keep your mind busy. That’s why God wants you to think about them.
So where will you find those things? Most likely not on TV or movies. So where will you find them? In His Word. He wants you to fill your mind with that and life will be better.
Peace in the Lord,
