"The More Grateful You Are,
the Happier You'll Be!"
“Every time I think of you I give thanks to my God.” Phil. 1: 3 NLT
Do you want to be happy? Do you think things can make you happy in life? Not for very long. The thing that will make you happiest in life is to have an attitude of gratitude.
That will affect your relationships and life. When you have an attitude of gratitude you are thankful for the people whom God puts in your life. You cherish them and enjoy them, rather than being burdened by them. The simple truth is that that is the foundation of all good relationships.
Too many people think about the problems or burdens that people bring into their lives. Paul says what we want to do is think about them as a joy. They are a gift from God. His first thought when he thought of them was to have gratitude. We want to model that behavior.
Here’s the challenge: the longer you know somebody, the more likely you are to take that person for granted. The longer you know someone the easier it is to focus on the person’s faults and the bad times instead of being grateful for them.
That’s why you want to CHOOSE to have an attitude of gratitude. It’s a habit, a habit you can take up and practice, thanking God for the people who are in your life. When you do that it will help you cultivate happiness in your life and will have a long and lasting impact on all of your relationships.
Peace in the Lord,
