"Can't See the Future? Rely on God"
“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.” Psalm 25: 9 NIV
Remember I ended the devotion yesterday by saying read your Bible? The Bible says there are several things we need to do to receive God’s guidance.
The first thing we need to do is: admit we need a guide! Many times, we don’t want to follow God or anybody else.
The reason we’re confused is because we don’t want to hear what He has to say. We want to go our own way. We don’t want to admit we need direction or a guide.
Sheep, by nature, tend to wander off the path. They like to go their own way. That’s one of the reasons why the Bible so often likens us to sheep.
They also have very poor vision. They don’t see very far ahead so they can’t see the consequences of their actions.
God made you so that you would not be able to see into the future no matter how hard you try. Why did He do this? He did it so that you would depend on Him, rather than yourself.
Ever made a decision that felt right that turned out really wrong? Some paths lead to dead ends and we end up off-track. That’s why it helps to admit we need God’s help before we take a path.
Peace in the Lord,
