"Five Things To Do
In The Storm "
“But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’” Matthew 14: 30 NIV
The God we worship never deserts us. He never abandons us. He is working for good in our lives. Here are five things God wants you to do if you feel like you’re sinking in a storm:
HAVE COURAGE BECAUSE JESUS IS WITH YOU - Don’t ever argue with a fear. Just tell it where to go! Tell it to talk to Jesus.
TAKE A RISK IN FAITH - Don’t ask God to bless what you’re doing. Ask God what He is blessing and then do it. If He asks you to get out of the boat, it will help you to get to Him.
STAY FOCUSED ON JESUS - Do you remember that it was when Peter took his eyes off Jesus that he began to sink? When you let the distractions around you become your focus, you’re going to sink, just like Peter. When you let your fear take over, you’re going to sink. If you look to Christ, you’ll be at peace.
DON’T DOUBT - So often we think it takes great faith to believe. All it takes is faith in the right person. Jesus said if we have faith like the tiniest seed, we’ll have enough.
PRAISE GOD - Even in a storm, when you feel like you’re sinking, when you’re scared to death, praise Him all the time. Thank God in the middle of the storm.
What storms are you facing right now? Why do you think God allows you go through those storms? Jesus wanted the disciples to know that they needed to depend on God. That’s the same reason He lets us go through storms, so we’ll learn to depend more on Jesus.
Peace in the Lord,
