"Do You See Others the Way Jesus Does?"
“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.”
Mark 6: 34a NIV
The best way to know that you’re looking at life from God’s viewpoint is to look at the way you see other people. It’s not how much Bible you know, how often you go to church or whether you serve, tithe or pray. It’s about how you treat other people, because life is all about love.
So here are some thoughts, if you have a spouse, how does God see your spouse? To Him, he or she is valuable, acceptable, lovable and forgivable. Is that how you see your spouse? Do you and God agree?
If you have teenagers or strangers in your life, how do you see them? How about the person who cut you off in traffic? The beggar in the street? What irritates you or burdens you about them? Would God be burdened or irritated about it?
People matter to God. He doesn’t care who they are or what they’ve done. He’s concerned about people no matter what they believe. You see, Jesus died for every one of them, even people who don’t believe in Him. They are part of God’s plan. He wants them to have a relationship with Him.
Our verse reminds us that Jesus had compassion on people. Do you? Let your spiritual vision get larger, clearer and stronger as you learn to see people the way Jesus does.
Peace in the Lord,
