"Your Destiny, Your Choice"
“For you are God’s masterpiece. He created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”
Ephesians 2: 10 NLT
Your life isn’t an accident. You have a destiny; only you can complete it. God knows everything that’s going to happen in your life. He’s not surprised by it.
And He knows your days have a destiny. The Bible says you will likely get 80 years. In the scheme of eternity that’s not very long. So the Bible reminds you that this life is preparation for the next.
God wants you to practice on earth what you’ll do forever in eternity. For that reason He gave you a destiny, something that you’ll be able to do in life and only you can do it. God wired you with certain abilities and ambitions. He enables you to play a particular role in history.
Our verse for today reminds you that God gave you a unique mixture of spiritual gifts, passions, abilities, personality and experiences. Even if you have an identical twin there’s no one just like you in the entire universe because even twins differ.
Here’s the painful part: you can miss God’s destiny for your life. People do it all the time. You have a choice about your destiny. What will you chose to do?
God’s will is not automatic. He allows us to make choices. Many of the things that happen to us are not God’s perfect will. We all have to choose between God’s will and our will. Unfortunately, we often choose our will.
God give you free will, the opportunity to choose. He won’t force you to make a decision but He also won’t turn His back on you. You can always come back to live in His will.
That’s why Jesus told us to pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” God’s will is done perfectly in heaven. He wants it done perfectly in our lives too.
But remember, your destiny is your choice.
Peace in the Lord,
