"The Value of You"
“God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life… and the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose Him as your ransom long before the world began.” 1 Peter 1: 18 – 20a NLT
Wealth, popularity and fame will never bring you value. They’re too temporary; in just a blink of an eye they can be gone.
Typically things are valued by how much another person will give up for it. If that’s the measurement, your value is out of the world. The Creator of the universe gave His only Son for you!
Can you imagine anyone paying a higher price for anything? Our verse today reminds us that God paid the ransom to save us from an empty life. He didn’t use gold or silver because He wanted the most valuable thing in the world to be used to pay for us. That’s His Son, Jesus Christ.
Once you believe that truth and make it part of you, you should never again struggle with self-esteem. God Himself has clarified your value. You are worth dying for. And it wasn’t a simple death; it was death on a cross.
This is how much you matter. Jesus said He would rather die on a cross than live without you. He also said that for every person in the world. That’s why we want to respect them.
God loves everyone you meet. There’s no one in the whole world, whether they believe in God or not, whom Jesus didn’t die for. He made you a part of His New Creation.
So God doesn’t care what you’ve done wrong. What He most cares about is where you’re going.
God says your life has value. Trust Him, it’s true.
Peace in the Lord,
