"God's Creatively is in Plain Sight"
“The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is.” Romans 1: 19 MSG
We can learn a lot about God by simply looking at nature. Paul tells us in Romans 2: 1 that His divine power and nature – "have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” In other words, you can learn a lot about God by just taking a look around you.
When I walk around, looking at the wonderful things God has created, I see that God likes variety. He likes to see different things growing together. He gets bored with sameness. That’s one reason why there’s nobody else in the entire world like you.
As I look at nature, I also see that God is powerful. Look at the forces of nature: volcanoes, earthquakes and tidal waves. Even the less violent things like tides and winds reveal the power of God. Only a powerful God could create such powerful things.
It also shows me that God is creative. Leaves change and glow in the fall. A caterpillar becomes a butterfly. I look at the beauty of the lakes and know that in each season they will be a little different.
Creation also reveals that God is an organizer. We don’t just live in a world, we live in an ecosystem. All things are put together and they are delicately balanced.
Finally, I look at my own body and see how intricately it is woven together so that it all works. I recognize that God does some awesome work in His creation. Don't be so busy you miss it.
So, as you’re moving about this week, take some time to notice all that is around you. Reflect how it’s all a creation of God.
Peace in the Lord,
