"Time for A Miracle!"

"Then the LORD spoke his word to Elijah, ‘Go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I have commanded a widow there to take care of you.’ So Elijah went to Zarephath.” (1 Kings 17:8-10a NCV)

This is an uncomfortable time for my husband and I. We are taking a leap of faith in our lives and leaving the home we have occupied for the better part of 30 years. It feels liberating in some ways and terrifying in others. When I read Rick Warren's devotion for today, it was talking about miracles.

Miracles happen when you step out in faith and walk through uncomfortable circumstances. Miracles happen when you listen to the Lord's voice and take the first uncertain steps out of your comfort zone. When you do this, you are following in the footsteps of the likes of Elijah, Jonah and Paul.

Good Shepherd is also poised on the brink of a miracle. We are in a unique time that will allow us to step out in faith and stretch our capabilities beyond our comfort zone. God is talking to each of us, we need only to listen, then step out in faith.

Will you take God's hand and go where he wants to lead you? It may be something as simple as arranging flowers for the altar on a Sunday. It may be reaching inside yourself to find a talent to share with others and help them in their walk of faith.

This is an exciting time for us, we are becoming more than we were and God is leading us. My prayer for each of us is that we take the time to listen for God's voice.

Have a Blessed day,
