"It's Time to Redefine Failure"
“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” Proverbs 29: 25 NIV
Satan’s favorite tool to diminish your faith is the fear of failure. You cannot serve God and be constantly worried about what other people think. God wants you to move forward. Fear keeps you from doing that.
So how do you get rid of the fear of failure? One way is to redefine failure. Failure is not failing to reach your goal or not having a goal or even failing to hit a target. You’re never a failure until you quit. Failure is not trying or accomplishing anything.
The other aspect of failure is comparing yourself with other people. There are always going to be people who do things better than you do or worse. Comparing can lead to pride, if you’re doing them better or discouragement if you’re not. Those things keep you from serving God.
Pride can be good, when it’s grounded in sharing what God is doing in your life rather than what you are doing. That kind of pride builds you and everyone around you up.
Our goal in life should not be to become the best of something. Our goal is to become the faithful servant that God wants us to be so that He will commend us with a “well done” at the end of life.
Let go of your fear of failure, because anything you’re attempting for God in faith is a good thing, regardless of the outcome.
Peace in the Lord,
