"We Praise God for the Gift of Jesus"
From the Gospel of Luke we read the birth announcement of Jesus –
“Suddenly, God’s angels stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angels said, ‘Don’t be afraid I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: a Savior has been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you are to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.’
At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises:
Glory to God in the highest heavenly heights
Peace to all men and women on earth who please Him.”Luke 2: 9 – 14 MSG
We’re just a little bit over ten days away from Christmas. I’d like to use this devotion to wish you a Blessed Christmas. It’s going to be pretty busy for most of us this next week and so the devotion will be on vacation until after the New Year.
I hope you will enjoy your Advent Devotion booklet, written by members of our congregation. If you haven’t gotten one yet, stop by the office to pick it up. It’s been a wonderful gift this Advent and there’s still time to use it.
I also hope you’ll watch for the devotion to return the first week in January. I look forward to seeing you in the coming daysas we celebrate the coming Savior.
