"Be Wise: Look Ahead and
“The wise man looks ahead. The fool attempts to fool himself and won’t face facts.” Proverbs 14: 8 TLB
Many people start life out well, but later on progress poorly because they don’t plan for the pitfalls that will come. The writer of Proverbs tells us that the wise man looks ahead and faces reality.
As you look towards your future, you don’t know what pitfalls are ahead, but there is one thing I can assure you of, there will be pitfalls. Moses, Noah and anybody else in the Bible faced pitfalls. The difference is, they overcame them and you can also.
For Noah his goal was to build an ark. It may not be an ark but I do believe He gives each of us big goals. By knowing there are pitfalls ahead you can be prepared to spot them. God will equip you to become the man or woman He wants you to be. What’s one of the ways you can be prepared? Ask God for help.
A lot of people talk about that verse that God will never give us more than we can handle. I know I tend to think about that as meaning what I’m going to personally handle. The truth is God wants to be in our life and He sends other people into our lives to help us.
What keeps us from asking for help? Pride. The biggest thing we have to do is overcome it by asking for help. That’s one of the ways we learn how to handle the pitfalls that will be ahead that might keep us from becoming the person God wants us to be.
Peace in the Lord,
