"Ready, Set -- Wait!"
“The Lord is good to everyone who trusts Him, so it is best for us to wait in patience – to wait for Him to save us.” Lamentation 3: 25 – 26 GNT
When it seems like life is falling apart, God isn’t listening and you’re not sure what to do, the best decision may be to just wait in patience. Get alone with God and wait.
Jeremiah tells us in Lamentations 3: 28 to “enter into silence.” Most of us don’t know how or want to do that. We’ve filled our lives with too much noise to understand how to be quiet.
What’s the purpose of quiet? It’s to listen to God. When you get quiet and stop filling your life with noise, you can hear God better.
Anxiety comes when we’re not “waiting for hope to appear,” as Jeremiah tells us. God wants to talk to us. He wants to give us the hope we crave. The problem is not God. The problem is us. We’re too busy to wait on Him.
So get honest with God, get your focus shifted from seeing your problems, no matter how overwhelming they may seem, to the grace of God.
When you focus on God’s grace it’s a lot easier to wait for God to do something.
Peace in the Lord,
