"What Will You do Without Him? Two Days Before I Die!"
“The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume on my body she did it to prepare me for my burial.” Matthew 26: 11 – 12
Death is lurking in the shadows. Jesus has two more days until His crucifixion. He knows what is ahead and will willingly submit to it. It reveals His obedience to His Father.
The disciples on the other hand are unwilling to accept it. They’re still caught up in the bickering that so plagues humanity. And there is one more thing that plagues humanity, betrayal. They have to face that also.
This is the day when Judas will go and make the deal with the chief priests. He will sell Jesus out for 30 pieces of silver, which is the price one would pay for a slave.
Are you caught up in bickering and betrayal? It’s part of life, isn’t it? You don’t mean to but fall victim to it. It just happens. Then you feel guilty about it.
We want our own ways rather than God’s way. It’s the price we pay for the sin of the garden. We can’t escape it. Only Jesus can save us from it.
Lingering over all of this is the question: What would you do if you only had two more days to live?
Peace in the Lord,
