"Plugging Into Resurrection Power!"
“But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.” 2 Corinthians 1: 9b NLT
Life can be tough. That probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you. Some of us live that truth more often than we’d like to. The reality is all of us face difficult times.
Even one of the great heroes of the bible, Paul went through tough times. He seemed to have more than his fair share. The Bible says he was once so depressed he told God he was ready to die. He even asked God to kill him!
How did Paul get through that difficult time? He plugged into Jesus’ resurrection power. He learned to rely on Jesus rather than on Himself.
He would say that even though he faced all these difficult times and situations that God had enabled him to endure. In a way, he got to the end of himself. And that’s exactly where he needed to be.
There’s only one condition for God’s power in your life: humility. You have to let God know that you need Him. You need His power. But here’s the deal, God does not give His power to arrogant people.
Humility tells the Lord, “You are God and I am not. You have the power and I don’t. You are wise and I’m not. I am powerless to change the situation, so I’m going to give it to you.”
When you do that it gives God the opportunity to work in you through His power. He’s the God who can bring dead things back to life. He turns crucifixions into resurrections.
What’s dead in your life? If God can raise a dead person, he can raise dead marriages, dead careers or a dead dream. God can do anything. You’ve got to give Him the chance to use His resurrection power in your life.
Peace in the Lord,
